What is Ionic Iron from Trace Minerals Research?

Trace Minerals Ionic Iron is a liquid iron complex in ionic form with a complete spectrum of highly concentrated ionic trace minerals such as iron, magnesium, chloride, sulfate and boron.

What is iron?

Iron is a trace element. It is involved in various processes in the human organism, for example in the transport of oxygen as a component of the red blood pigment (haemoglobin) and in the storage of oxygen in the muscles[1].

The following statements on the effect of iron in the body have been scientifically proven:

  • Iron contributes to normal cognitive function
  • Iron contributes to normal energy metabolism
  • Iron contributes to the normal formation of red blood cells and haemoglobin
  • Iron contributes to normal oxygen transport in the body
  • Iron contributes to the normal function of the immune system
  • Iron contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue
  • Iron plays a role in the process of cell division

Which foods contain a lot of iron?

Alot of iron is found in dark red meat, such as beef, veal or game.[2] Plant-based food sources such as beet, pulses and cereal products made from wholemeal flour also have a high iron content. However, the body can utilize iron from animal foods better than from plant sources[3].

This means that people who eat a vegetarian diet can be predestined for an iron def iciency. Other risk groups for iron deficiency are children and adolescents in the growth phase as well as women of childbearing age and during pregnancy, as the iron requirement is increased here[4].

To prevent an iron deficiency, care should be taken to eat a diet rich in iron . The intake of iron supplements, such as Trace Minerals Ionic Iron, can also be useful. More Trace Minerals products with important minerals & trace elements can be found in our store.
