What is R alpha lipoic acid?
Alpha lipoic acid is a fatty acid, also known as thioctic acid. Alpha lipoic acid is often classified as a vitamin-like substance. It contains sulphur, is fat and water soluble and can exist in two forms: the R-form and the S-form.
The R-form is the natural form in which the fatty acid occurs in nature and in the organism. The S-form , on the other hand, is synthetic and is produced during the manufacture of alpha-lipoic acid. What does R-alpha lipoic acid do in the body?
Alpha lipoic acid (ALA) is known to have antioxidant properties . For this reason, it is suitable for neutralizing an excess of free radicals.
ButALA can do much more: when other antioxidants such as vitamin C, vitamin E, coenzyme Q10 and glutathione are "used up", it can regenerate them so that they regain their antioxidant properties[2].

Due to its improved solubility, it also has a higher bioavailability and can be optimally absorbed by the body.
D-biotin, the natural form of vitamin B7, has also been added to the product. Taking alpha-lipoic acid can reduce the activity of biotin-dependent enzymes and increase the need for biotin. For this reason, each capsule contains 150mcg of biotin.
