Per dosage (4 capsules) you receive 60mg vitamin C, 1mg manganese, 1500mg glucosamine sulphate, 1200mg chondroitin sulphate and 300mg methylsulphonylmethane.
What is glucosamine?
Like chondroitin , glucosamine occurs naturally in the body. It is an important component of connective and cartilage tissue and is also present in the synovial fluid .
Chemically speaking, glucosamine is an amino sugar. Amino sugars are simple sugars (monosaccharides), which have an amino group .[1]
What is chondroitin?
Chondroitin is produced by the body itself in the cartilage cells of the body . From a chemical point of view, it belongs to the glycosaminoglycans, which are also called mucopolysaccharides . As the name suggests, it is a chain of several disaccharides (double sugars) . This structure enables chondroitin to bind many times more water , which results in high elasticity [2].
During further metabolism , chondroitin is converted into glucosamine and glucuronic acid .
What is MSM?
MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) is an organic sulfur compound that is found in every cell of the organism and is involved in countless structural processes such as protein formation . It is therefore also a component of many amino acids[3].
The preparation Glucosamine + Chondroitin + MSM from Jarrow Formulas is gluten- and soy-free. The gelatine capsules with their smooth surface make them easier to take.
