What is vitamin D3 from Jarrow Formulas?
JarrowFormulas® uses vitamin D3 in the form of cholecalciferol in this product. This form is also produced in the human body with the help of sunlight and can be easily converted into the active form of vitamin D (calcitriol).
The cholecalciferol in this product is derived from lanolin (wool fat).
This Jarrow product is also gluten and soy free and contains no genetically modified ingredients (non-GMO).
What is vitamin D3 and what effect does it have?
Vitamin D3, also known as the sun vitamin , is one of the best-known vitamins alongside vitamin C.
However, vitamin D3 is not a vitamin, but a prohormone[1], which means that it is a precursor of a hormone and does not (yet) have any hormonal properties itself. These only occur after conversion in the metabolism .
