What is licorice root?
Now Foods Licorice Root capsules are made from licorice root. The licorice plant has the botanical name Glycyrrhiza Glabra and botanically belongs to the legume family. It is also known as "real licorice" and grows in southern Russia, the Mediterranean region, parts of Asia and southern areas of Europe.
In terms of taste, licorice root is around 50 times sweeter than conventional sugar from sugar cane or sugar beet.
