Why is Omega 3-6-9 from Solgar so special?
Omega fatty acids are essential for the human body and must be consumed in sufficient quantities through food every day. They are mainly found infishand other sea creatures, but also invegetable oils.[1]
While fish are rich in the omega-3 fatty acids DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid), they contain vegetable oils such as linseed oil or borage oil alpha-linolenic acid (ALA; Omega-3), linoleic acid (omega-6), gamma-linolenic acid (omega-6) and oleic acid (omega-9).
The omega-3 fatty acid alpha-linolenic acid can be converted by the body into EPA and DHA, but the amounts are too small to cover the daily requirement .
